Michael Metz joined the NGAUS communications team as senior writer/editor.
The position is responsible for writing and editing news stories for National Guard, the association bi-monthly magazine, and Washington Report, the NGAUS weekly e-newsletter. He will also provide content for NGAUS.org.
“Of all the organizations that I have worked for, my favorite membership to serve were the service members at the Military Times. I am honored to be able to work for them again,” said Metz.
Prior to NGAUS, Metz worked in marketing and communications at the American Gear Manufacturers Association. He also worked in marketing and membership at other D.C. area associations.
Metz is familiar with the military having worked at Sightline Media Group, formerly Gannett Government Media. Their publications include Army Times, Air Force Times and Defense News.
He has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Richmond, and a master’s degree in Fictional Writing from Johns Hopkins University.
Metz currently resides in Northern Virginia.
