The board of directors gathers three times a year in March, July and November. The meetings are held at the National Guard Memorial, the association’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., unless otherwise noted.

The board consists of a chairman, vice chair-Army, vice chair-Air, secretary, treasurer, the immediate past chairman and 23 additional members, including three (one Army, one Air, one adjutant general) from each of six geographical areas nationwide, two retired/separated representatives (one Army, one Air), two company-grade reps (one Army, one Air) and a warrant officer representative.

Elections take place at the conference in August.

The board’s officers and directors for Areas II and V will be selected this year, as well as company-grade (Army) and retired/separated (Army) representatives.

Next board meeting: Saturday, July 18 (Virtual) 
The agenda for the association’s 29-member governing body will include a mid-year budget review, continuing work on the NGAUS Strategic Plan and final details of the plans for the 148th General Conference & Exhibition, which is set for Aug. 28-31 in Indianapolis. The National Guard Educational Foundation board and the trustees of the NGAUS Insurance Trust will meet virtually Thursday.
