Valerie Lucas joined NGAUS as its membership and marketing program manager last week. She will bring her graphic design expertise to the association.

“It’s important for me to work with an organization who supports something I believe in,” Lucas said.

Her duties will include supporting cross-departmental efforts to elevate the association brand and promote key programs and events. She will also support the database manager with membership campaigns and coordination across the 54 states, territories and the District of Columbia.

“We’re excited to have Valerie join the NGAUS membership team. She brings a strong background in communications, design and marketing across both private and government sectors,” said Tracy Campfield, the NGAUS director of membership and marketing. “Her creativity and strategic insight will be a great asset as we continue to strengthen our brand and engage our members.”

Lucas previously worked as senior communications specialist for Civility Management Solutions in Washington D.C., where she coordinated marketing initiatives for internal and external audiences, enhancing agency visibility.

She has also stayed busy as a freelance graphic designer.

Prior to that, Lucas worked at the Recycling Materials Association as a development project manager in D.C.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from University of Maryland Global Campus.

Lucas resides in Bowie, Maryland.

Michael McNeil, who previously held her position, is now the membership and marketing program manager of database development. He has worked at NGAUS since 2022.
