Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees (Ret.)

Rees served as the Oregon adjutant general three times for a total of 17 years. He spent time as the director of the Army National Guard, and was three times the vice chief of the National Guard Bureau and twice its acting chief. Just before his final stint as adjutant general, Rees was the chief of staff for U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command.

For NGAUS, he served on the board of directors and, over the years, chaired committees and special panels. Rees retired from the Guard in 2013.

He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 1966.

As a Vietnam veteran, Rees frequently attends reunions of D Troop, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 101st Airborne.
