NGAUS Conference Social Events, Activities Set

The Wisconsin National Guard Association has finalized most of the social events and activities for the 147th General Conference & Exhibition, Aug. 22-25, 2025, in Milwaukee.

The overall event is the annual NGAUS business meeting. It includes business/professional development session that will feature presentations by senior Pentagon leaders and members of Congress and a tradeshow with more than 300 exhibitors.

Social activities for attendees begin Friday, Aug. 22 with the annual NGAUS Golf Tournament at the Bog Golf Course, an award-winning Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Cedarburg Bog in Saukville, Wisconsin.

The outing will be split into morning and afternoon sessions with 120 golfers per group. The fee is $130. Lunch will be provided.

Another option that day is sport fishing on Lake Michigan. The $100 registration fee covers all necessary equipment and a one-day fishing license. For those who land a catch, fish can be cleaned or smoked and packaged to ship or take home.

Sport fishing is capped at 75 participants.

Attendees on Aug. 22 also have the option to take a motorcycle ride starting and ending at the House of Harley-Davidson, one of the Midwest’s premier dealerships.

Riders can bring their own motorcycle or rent one on-site. Apparel is sold on location, too. Registration is $35 and the event is limited to 150 riders.

The traditional conference mixers are set for the evening of Aug. 22.

Company-grade officers and warrant officers will gather at the Mecca Sports Bar and Grill in the Deer District downtown, while the senior warrant officers will meet at Gather, which is also in the Deer District.

Conference badges are required for entry to both events and the cost is included in the conference registration fee.

The Adjutants General Reception is also that evening. The event is invitation-only and set for at Zilli Lake & Gardens downtown.

The annual 5k Fun Run will be on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 23 at Veterans Park. The route runs along Lake Michigan. Registration for the run is $25. Capacity is 250.

The Governor’s Reception will be held that evening at Discovery World. The science museum features an aquarium, exhibits and many immersive experiences — including a flight simulator.

The Spouses Luncheon is set for Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Pritzlaff Building in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. Meanwhile, the Retiree Caucus is scheduled for Harley-Davidson Museum. It has a $5 registration fee.

Hospitality Night is that evening. This is the evening when state/territory association open their hospitality suites to all attendees. Some plan to rent downtown bars and pubs.

The States Dinner will conclude the conference Aug. 25 at the Baird Ballroom in the Baird Center. The dinner will feature entertainment from comedian Charlie Berens.
