Washington Report

The House on Tuesday afternoon voted to pass a government funding package that tees up the end of the partial shutdown, which is its fourth day.

The measure passed largely on party lines with a 217-214 vote. It now heads to President Donald Trump's desk for signature.

Funding for the Pentagon, Education, Treasury, Labor and State departments through the end of the fiscal year are included in the package. .

The bill also includes a two-week short-term continuing resolution to keep Department of Homeland Security funded through the end of next week.

Total defense appropriations are $838.7 billion, or $8.4 billion more than the president’s original request.

NGAUS will report on what the bill includes for the Army and Air National Guard in the days ahead.
