Staff Writer

Summary: Produces a wide range of content for the NGAUS website, weekly newsletter, social-media channels and NATIONAL GUARD magazine. Contributes to overall look and feel of NGAUS’ communications products and assists with special events by performing the following duties.
Salary: $40,000 to 45,000

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.    Conceives and produces regular content for website; social-media channels to include Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn; and weekly e-newsletter, Washington Report.*
2.    Writes news and feature articles for National Guard magazine.*
3.    Assists with final editing and proofreading of all National Guard Association of the United States communication products.*
4.    Assists with dissemination of weekly e-newsletter, Washington Report.*
5.    Produces short in-house weekly e-newsletter for employee awareness of association activities and achievements.*
6.    Takes photographs for magazine and other directorates.*
7.    Assists with photo searches for National Guard Association of the United States communications products.*
8.    Manages association Flickr photo account.*
9.    Assists with administration of National Guard Association of the United States website.*
10.    Assists with conception and development of National Guard Association of the United States advertising materials, marketing collaterals and special communications products.*
11.    Assists with association event planning, marketing and execution.*
12.    Works with other departmental staff to conceive of a personal professional development strategy to include, but not be limited to, staying current with communications trends and technologies and attending association media and publishing seminars, and other communication workshops and training.*
