Many restaurants, retailers and recreational areas nationwide will honor veterans and current service members with free meals and other special deals for Veterans Day Monday.
The following list is from the Department of Veterans Affairs and entities that directly contacted NGAUS.
The eligibility criteria are provided and vary by establishment. Many use the term "active duty" when they mean "actively serving."
Participants may need proof of service — such as a military ID card or a driver’s license with the veteran designation — to take advantage of some Veterans Day deals.
Offers are available on Veterans Day 2024 — Monday, Nov. 11 — unless otherwise noted.

54th Street Bar and Grill
54th Street Grill & Bar gives a $10 discount on any entrée to veterans and active military personnel on Veterans Day. To receive the deal, customers must dine in, provide proof of service and mention the discount code "Veterans Day." The offer cannot be mixed with other discounts.
Abuelo's
For Veterans Day from Nov. 6 through Nov. 11, Abuelo's will contribute $1 to Honor Flight for every Chile con Queso and Queso Diablo appetizer purchased.
Applebee's
Applebee's, a global restaurant chain known for comfort food, is treating veterans and active-duty military to a free meal from a specific menu on Veterans Day. A valid military ID or proof of service is required for this offer. Remember to participate during the Veterans Day period.
Armed Forces Brewing Company
In recognition of their service, Armed Forces Brewing Company extends an invitation to veterans to enjoy a complimentary beer at their Hampton Roads Taproom, located at 211 W 24th Street in Norfolk. Through the generosity of patrons and shareholders, over 1,000 pre-paid beers are available from Nov. 8 through Nov. 11. Veterans are invited to partake in this gesture of appreciation, with one beer available per veteran per day.
Army & Air Force Exchange Service
On Nov. 11, Army & Air Force Exchange Service offers various deals, including 15% off food purchases at participating restaurants for MILITARY STAR cardmembers.

On Veterans Day, T.G.I. Veterans and active duty service members can visit a salon Nov. 11 and receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card to use at a future visit. In addition, non-military customers who get a haircut on Veterans Day will receive a free haircut card to give to an active service member or veteran they know as a way of saying thank you.
