The Army National Guard is strengthening its role in the Joint Force with the acquisition of 12 Gray Eagle® 25M unmanned aircraft systems. 

These advanced platforms, developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., are designed to enhance Multi-Domain Operations and ensure seamless integration with active-duty units. 

This groundbreaking program provides the ARNG with critical tools to support both combat and domestic missions.

Key benefits of the Gray Eagle 25M include:

• Enhanced Operational Flexibility: The Gray Eagle 25M features a laptop-based Expeditionary Ground Control System, enabling Soldiers to operate missions from tents, buildings, or mobile shelters. This reduces logistical requirements and allows rapid deployment to austere environments without significant infrastructure.
• Advanced Reconnaissance and Strike Capabilities: Equipped with the EagleEye® multi-mode radar and electro-optical/infrared sensors, the Gray Eagle 25M supports long-range intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and precision strike missions. Its modular design accommodates a wide range of kinetic and non-kinetic payloads, providing ARNG units with unprecedented flexibility.
• Improved Reliability and Survivability: The new Heavy Fuel Engine 2.0 and power systems reduce maintenance requirements and increase reliability. Combined with its open architecture, the platform supports advanced sensors, electronic warfare pods, and launched effects, ensuring survivability in contested environments.

The Gray Eagle 25M marks a significant milestone for the ARNG by enabling divisional reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition missions for the first time. These capabilities also position the ARNG to operate effectively alongside MQ-9B and Gambit Series aircraft, enhancing the Joint Force’s ability to detect and engage threats across multiple domains.
