Recommendation Information
With the passage of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) (Public Law 118-159) and under Section 514 of the FY25 NDAA, Congress authorized the divestment and transfer of Air National Guard (ANG) space assets and missions directly to the active-duty U.S. Space Force. This legislative decision effectively began dismantling the ANG's role in space operations, where nearly 1,000 Airmen across seven states (Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, New York, and Ohio).
