Increase Fire Power by Integrating and Fielding the Javelin Weapon System into the Military Police Combat Support Units
Recommendation Information
- The Javelin Close Combat Missile System provides ARNG Brigade Combat Teams and Combat Engineer Units significant fire power on the battlefield. Javelin is a combat proven weapon system demonstrating lethality against a wide variety of targets, with a greater than 94% reliability rate. It can be deployed from multiple platforms.
- Military Police Combat Support Units require increased fire power because of combat zone mission responsibilities, mounted and dismounted patrols, response force operations, area damage control, route reconnaissance, cordon and search operations and personnel escorts.
- RECOMMENDATION: The US Army should integrate Javelin in all US Army Military Police Combat Support Units.
