Urge expedience in setting power and thermal management system requirements for the F-35 in order to leverage concurrent development of the F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) with a modernized PTMS solution. Knowing the requirements will help maintain current timelines and help avoid a mismatch in specifications and a degradation to the engine life due to unknown PTMS requirements.
With defined PTMS requirements, the co-optimization of the Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) and modernized PTMS will ensure upgrades beyond Block 4 will be supported for the life of the F-35 with the lowest cost and lowest technical risk.
