Proposal Statement
Modify the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act to afford the same or similar protection to Title 32 Excepted Service Technicians
Recommendation Information
The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act affords legal protection to Active Duty service-members, Active Guard and Reserve service-members and Traditional National Guard and Reservists when called to Active Duty. The legal protection includes civilian re-employment rights when returning from service within specified time frames. Title 32 Excepted Service Technicians are inherently military positions (require military membership) and perform the same functions as Active Guard and Reserve members as well as most Active Duty service members.
