M777A2 Lightweight 155mm Howitzer Sustainment

M777 towed howitzer must be sustained until a Next Generation (NG) 155mm howitzer is selected. The Army Field Artillery Modernization Strategy focuses on cannon artillery modernization to field a cannon force that can fight and win in Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) in the 2035 time frame, including the replacement of M777. A potential decision on the NG Howitzer is expected in the FY26-27 time frame with transfer of the M777 system to sustainment. If M777s are divested before a FY26-27 decision, recommend an expedited decision on NG 155mm howitzer.
