Proposal Statement
Propose creation of an ANG Offensive Space Control (OSC) capability within the New York Air National Guard to support expanding Combatant Commanders' (COCOM) and Joint Task Force Space Command (JFSCC) space control requirements.
Recommendation Information
-Air Force Space Command's (AFSPC) vision to create six ANG space control units with 18 Unit Type Codes (UTC) capable of deploying anywhere in the world to conduct space superiority operations. Three OSC units exist and the creation of a fourth is underway.
-To meet the increased demand for OSC assets, the 107 Attack Wing proposes an initiative to create a Space Control Squadron within the New York Air National Guard (NYANG).
-Establish a new OSC Squadron made up of space control experts.
-Leverage existing Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Space expertise within the state to support the initial stand-p of this new capability.
