Change Item D to "Funding semi-mobile security measures for stand-alone recruiting and retention storefronts across the National Guard enterprise to ensure protection of those inside the facilities and make the areas Department of the Army-compliant."
Recommendation Information
To provide states with a minimum of three free-standing, semi-mobile, modular armor furniture systems designed to provide ballistic, blast and fragmentation resistant protections for each Recruiting & Retention Storefront and Stand-alone facility across the National Guard Enterprise. This resolution is designed to protect Soldiers/Airmen and provide a safe location for recruits/visitors during an active shooter scenario. This resolutions is in response to the endless threats to military and is designed to provide full protection from attacks like Chattanooga in 2015. Modular armor furniture should be ballistically resistant to the most popular type of hand-held weapons/ammunition in the world today. Standards met should include both National Institute of Justice Level III for 7.62mm rounds and State Department 01.01 for the more popular 5.56mm rounds. Units must provide full head to toe protection for those sitting or standing in the protected space. A nominal height of protection shall be six feet. Units shall be a combination of transparent and opaque armor providing outward visibility when used in an office type environment. The products should be easy to assemble, disassemble and all ballistically rated material shall be user replaceable without tools. Products should promote commonality and ease of assembly across the National Guard. All products will need to be fully Department of the Army and the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) regulatory compliant.
Fund semi-mobile security measures for stand alone Recruiting & Retention Storefronts across the National Guard enterprise to ensure protection of those inside these facilities and make these areas Department of the Army compliant.
