Seeking $5M of NGREA or directed funding to outfit border-deployed guardsmen with the same, compatible equipment as the Border Patrol and Local Law Enforcement to fully demonstrate the full unity of effort across all Border participants. The pilot merges three emerging and disruptive technologies including data transport diversity (cyber security) and blended bandwidth (super high data rates) across any and all available LTE providers, any and all available Ku-Band satellite networks LEO and GEO) which could include Starlink and Intelsat’s new High Throughput Satellite (IS-40e) launched last month over CONUS, AK and HI.

It extends the reach back to the tactical edge via high data rate Mobile Ad hoc NETworking (MANET) handheld, vehicle mounted and tower mounted data devices to enable data exchanges across all Border responding organizations for applications such as TAK devices at the tactical edge. The intent is to be able to provide enhanced the high data rate capability where currently unavailable for situational awareness and sensor data to improve safety, save lives and leverage operational effectiveness.
