The UH-60M has a state of the art digital cockpit with proprietary hardware and software. Due to the proprietary issues upgrading or integrating additional capabilities can be very costly and not meet the users desired time line. The ISAS software embedded in the Electronic Data manager (EDM) used by non digitized Army platforms is a solution. The software has been tested on numerous non proprietary hardware platforms with COTS CPUs and interfaces. The software is being upgraded under the Air Soldier program to add new functionality and interface solutions. The software can run on computers the size of an iPhone or typical LRU sized boxes. The current ISAS software autoscales to multiple resolutions and it currently supports aspect ratios of 4:3,. 16:9, , and 16:10. The software runs on an IA compliant Windows 7 Operating System, has a FalconView digital map, VMF Messaging Capability over VMF, FBCB2, JCR and JBC-P networks, terrain avoidance alerts and masking, and CONUS Sirius XM Weather and interfaces with the existing Army Mission Planning System (AMPS) system.

Recommend integrating the ISAS software into an existing or new hardware box to gain additional functionality not currently in the UH-60M. Integration of the ISAS software could augment the current capabilities and allow for future growth and be separate from the existing architecture. This would allow for quicker technology insertions and capability upgrades such as Degraded Visual Environment (DVE).
