The mission planning software utilized by most AF airframes is currently the only software compatible with the Flight Management System (FMS) currently onboard the KC-135. Changes to the software or software vendor altogether would require substantial and costly changes to the KC-135 FMS to be able to process and display. Battlespace upgrades should be built into the requirements of the Common Mobility Air Force Mission Computer.
