Existing entry control gatehouse, visitor inspection area, and base fencing at the many Air National Guard Bases do not meet DoD or AF guidance per AFI 31-101. Upgrades to the entry control gatehouses would provide a hardened facility and increased protection to ANG security forces. Exterior fencing upgrades would replace existing fencing and provide identified protection from vehicle intrusion, upgrade outrigger configuration to provide additional security and operational flexibility in the case of Force Protection (FPCON) increasing. Exterior improvements would secure one operational gate and two secondary gates that operate as need for deliveries or emergency access/egress. Interior fencing would provide needed upgrades to height, outrigger configurations, and anti-vehicle cable to provide needed security and operational flexibility when FPCON is increased. These enhancements for Air National Guard (ANG) units will significantly improve security, necessary in today's current environment of shrinking budgets and improving terrorist tactics and techniques used against military installations worldwide.
