To permit concurrent disability and retirement pay for all service members, regardless of if they have reached the 50% disability rating threshold.
Recommendation Information
Service members who have a Veterans Affairs disability rating of 40% or less will have the amount of the VA compensation reduced from their retirement pay. Those with a VA disability rating of 50% or more receive their full disability compensation and their full retirement pay.
