1. Security Personnel must ensure lighting systems provide personal assessment capability and support camera systems in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack. The placement of lighting should enhance assessment capabilities and prevent blind spots/washouts which could detract from assessment capabilities. Furthermore, access to lighting controls by responding forces is a vital element to the overall defensive posture of the installation or restricted area. A well-lit area may be necessary to detect a threat; other times, the lights may need to be turned off to aid forces in their response.
2. During Airlift/Landing zone operations, Portable Lights kits are used on the ramp during night ops to support the cargo/personnel loading operations around the aircraft to ensure personnel safety and aid in the operation.
3. During CBRNE operations, Lights kits are used in the field during night ops to support the operational area around the Collectively Protected Shelter as well as the decontamination area. The decon area can be nearly as long as a football field when doing base-level mass decon.

The Domestic Response operations need portable lighting systems to support night time operations. LED flood light tower systems provide large area lighting for these operations. Lights kits are required for rapid deployment, light weight, battery operated for quiet operation to reduce noise in the work areas.
