Recommendation Information
Background. Global positioning system (GPS) jamming has the ability to degrade aircraft navigation systems and GPS weapons employment with relatively low power. The F-22 has a fixed reception pattern antenna for receiving GPS signals. Installing a controlled reception pattern antenna (CRPA) would give the F-22 GPS system better capability to operate without GPS signal degradation in a GPS jamming environment. All 20 ANG F-22s require upgraded GPS antennas.
