The need exists to safely land and taxi Defense Transportation System (DTS) assets in zero-zero weather conditions. These operations are to be conducted free of ground-based navigation aids or any other airfield landing aids. This capability is essential to providing the strategic responsiveness and full spectrum versatility demanded by the National Military Strategy (NMS).

Enhanced Flight Vision Systems (EFVS) are in development and/or operations today providing pilots a visual approach capability in degraded visual environments (DVE). These systems provide a visual approach using sensor-based head-up and head-down displays encompass approach, visually clearing the runway of obstructions, flare/touchdown, landing roll, taxi and ground operations, takeoff, and go around/missed approach.

Recommend the purchase, installation, and test of REVS systems onboard ARNG platforms for evaluation, compliance, and training for future needs.
