Proposal Statement
It is the recommendation of the National Guard Association of California that the National Guard Bureau, the Department of Defense, and the Congress of the United States to authorize and appropriate funding to provide controlled humidity protection systems to secure transport and store returning or existing equipment
Recommendation Information
Controlled Humidity Protection (CHP) Systems are manufactured with a treated membrane that accurately maintains internal temperature and humidity for the safe transportation and storage of ground, air and sea equipment for both indoor and outdoor use. Built on a frame, the CHP covers can be used as temporary or permanent shelters and thus ideally designed for transportation or storage of military equipment with high cost electronics. The stress points are reinforced with a unique zipper seal making it extremely easy to load and unload tanks and vehicles without any dis assembly of the Shelter. The CHP Shelters are reusable and transportable. The National Guard must manage the secure transport and storage of various military equipment while maintaining all in battle-ready condition. A fitted, flexible, temporary, reusable and cost efficient shelter that is a barrier to both moisture and vapors ensures vital equipment is maintained in its original condition and battle-ready, regardless of the outside environment. As the National Guard oversees the movement and transfer of equipment amongst military bases nationwide, there is a direct need for protective shelters that maintain constant temperature and humidity in temporary, reusable and cost efficient storage systems.
