The Army must replace the aged Fixed Wing fleet to replace the increasingly ineffective C-12 and C-26 fleets. The future Army fixed wing aircraft must be able to succeed in a contested logistics environment operating in isolated, challenging, short runway, and unimproved areas while providing intra-theater, rapid and highly mobile aerial transport for: unit level logistical support; personnel service support; low volume, high priority parts and equipment in support of theater operations; theater command, control, communications operations, and partner liaison. Additionally, the future fixed wing aircraft must have the ability to configure for theater CASEVAC and MEDEVAC requirements as needed.

NGAUS asks for the support of US Congress in funding procurement strategies for a lifecycle replacement to the current aged and ineffective C-12 and C-26 fixed wing fleets. Resourcing of this requirement directly supports both the global transport and intra-theater lift missions for the transport of personnel, equipment, supplies, and command and control as doctrinally defined through Total Army Analysis.
