Recommendation Information
CRITICAL NEED FOR SUPPORT- The ANG C-130H, J fleet requires self-defense capabilities to detect, deny and defeat modern factor RF missile threats specifically designed to target Large Mobility Air Forces Aircraft
STATES IMPACTED - All ANG C-130H/J aircraft located at CONUS and OCONUS sites.
MISSION CRITICAL NEED – To defeat the RF guided missile threat the C-130H, J aircraft require onboard/offboard threat jamming, decoys, and kinetic and non-kinetic defense measures.
DEPLOYMENTJUSTIFICATION- The ANG has procured the Special Airborne Mission Installation and Response (SABIR) system for their special mission aircraft and the SABIR could be the carrier for an external jamming system that integrates with the Digital Radar Warning Receiver and EW management system.
FUNDING JUSTIFICATION – The funding for this equipment is a candidate for National Guard and Reserve Equipment Account (NGREA) Appropriation 0350
ANG REQUIREMENT – There is an established C-130H/J model Electronic Attack requirement out of the 2023 Weapons and Tactics Conference that calls for self-protection of 91H and 48J model C-130 aircraft.
