Proposal Statement
Support a consolidate training plan and location for ARNG AH-64D Battalions until all units are modernized to AH-64E or Future Reconnaissance/Attack Aircraft.
Recommendation Information
Training for AH-64Ds at USAACE at Fort Rucker has been deferred to units for regression training from AH-64E. This is a burden on ِARBs and a safety concern throughout the AH-64D community. The consolidated training would be for Aircraft Qualification Course, Maintenance Test Pilot Course, and the Instructor Pilot Course. This training should also include MOSs - 15R and 15Y (AH-64D) following their suspension of instruction at Fort Eustis, VA in 2023. Training would follow TRADOC/USAACE approved Program of Instruction and utilize ARNG AH-64D airframes. Recommend training and instruction be conducted by independent contractor. The existence of this training would terminate following complete modernization of the ARNG to AH-64E or Future Recon/Attack aircraft.
