* Active Duty Field Artillery HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) battalions are growing to a 3x9 configuration (3 batteries with 9 rocket launchers per battery) while National Guard HIMARS battalions will remain at a 2x8 configuration (2 batteries with 8 rocket launchers per battery). This disparity will limit the National Guard's ability to seamlessly integrate and operate with Active Duty units and lessen the Army's critical long-range precision fires capabilities.
* We urge the HIMARS production line and rocket procurement be funded to meet these strategic priorities and manning authorizations be increased as well as recommend NG partnership exchange exercises are funded to improve interoperability and combat proficiency necessary for stand-off and survivability.
* This meets the US Army's #1 modernization effort remains long-range precision fires that enable our forces to defeat enemy defenses and strike enemy targets from a distance.
* This resolution will enhance HIMARS units in the following States: OK, TX, NC, WY, KY, TN, CO, WI, MI, KS, UT, and NH.
