In addition to combat operations, National Guard forces are routinely called upon to perform the full spectrum of domestic response support for remote areas at the state and local levels. Army National Guard units conducting decentralized and domestic operations lack rapid deployment, low weight and effective communications that individuals can establish. Upgrading the current OE 254 or COMM20B which are heavy, bulky, time consuming and require significant manpower to erect and become operational. These unique mission sets require an antenna system that provides a far more efficient, safer and effective communications capability to rapidly deploy and establish communications in remote areas.
