Fully fund new rapidly deployable passenger stair
Recommendation Information
STATES IMPACTED – All ANG Airlift and Air Refueling Wings.
MISSION CRITICAL NEED – Enables quick and safe loading of passengers onto aircraft. Proven design used in commercial operations preventing aircraft damage risk.
DEPLOYMENTJUSTIFICATION- New equipment that is lightweight and air portable. Services a variety of aircraft. Available with a range of options for all types of needs and operations. Deployable on C-130, C-17, C-5 and other aircraft.
FUNDING JUSTIFICATION – Low maintenance cost. Lowers number of pallet positions required versus current driveable passenger stairs. Fully air portable for tactical and strategic passenger handling. Currently using organizations without a set of Air Stairs will use whatever is available (aircrew stairs, aircraft maintenance stands and cargo loaders) at both home station and in particular, while deployed to load passengers. This asset is purpose built for passenger loading, is easily deployable and will provide improved health and safety for passengers and aircraft.
