The National Guard plays the dual role of the Governor’s first responder force and operational force role within the Department of Defense in support of the Global War on Terror and Peacekeeping medical missions around the world, responding to natural disasters, homeland defense and security missions within the States. In both Federal and State missions there is a need to provide oxygen support for ground, rotary and fixed wing evacuation platforms.
The Battlefield Oxygen Sustainment System (BOSS) is designed to meet maximum operator and patient safety support for liquid oxygen with special attention given to the likely harsh conditions in which they would be used. Each Liquid Oxygen System also allows for easy operator interface. The BOSS supports Paratrooper operations as well as ground and air evacuation capabilities. The BOSS is rugged, user friendly, low pressure, lightweight, portable, built in control valve, no external or internal power required and has been tested to Mil-Std-810.
The Battlefield Oxygen Sustainment System (BOSS) creates emergency response capability that provides oxygen support for ground and air evacuation assets providing low cost and maximum portability for the Governors and local incident commanders, saving valuable funding and time. Palletized LOX system logistics packages can be pre-positioned targeted for emergency response to natural disasters, homeland defense and security missions within the States.
