Proposal Statement
Continue expanding the fielding of blast tolerant fuel containment solutions on ground vehicles that has been steadily increasing over the last fifteen years. Notable fielded products include the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV), Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and the Payload Transport Replacement Vehicle (PTR). Application of this technology to ground platforms will continue to enhance crew and vehicle survivability.
Recommendation Information
Increase Types of Vehicles to include Notable fielded products include the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV), Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and the Payload Transport Replacement Vehicle (PTR) in order to enhance crew and vehicle survivability.
CRITICAL NEED FOR SUPPORT- The Army National Guard (ARNG) requires continued fielding of blast tolerant fuel containment systems in various ground combat and tactical vehicles
STATES IMPACTED - All ARNG states that use Bradley Fighting Vehicles, Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV), Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and the Payload Transport Replacement Vehicle (PTR) that are located at CONUS and OCONUS sites.
MISSION CRITICAL NEED - This is a mission critical need that has been adjusted to accommodate all current vehicles in the ARNG inventory
DEPLOYMENTJUSTIFICATION- The ARNG mission requirement for the blast tolerant fuel containment systems are applicable to homeland defense and combat operations in both CONUS and OCONUS.
FUNDING JUSTIFICATION – The funding for this equipment is a candidate for National Guard and Reserve Equipment Account (NGREA) Appropriation 0350
ARNG REQUIREMENT – Blast tolerant fuel containment systems are a basic approved and validated requirement that is document in the Table of Allowances for the Army National Guard Ground and Tactical vehicles
