Recommendation Information
The Air National Guard (ANG) operates a large fleet of C-130H models which are powered by the Rolls Royce T56 engine. The ANG is currently requesting additional funding to modernize and upgrade the T56 engine on the ANG's 165 C130H models from its current "3.0" configuration to at "3.5" configuration. In support of this effort and to maintain a high level of fleet readiness at a comparable cost, it is imperative to retain an industrial base to comprehensively overhaul and test these engines at the USAF depot / original equipment manufacturer authorized maintenance center.
Support comprehensive overhaul of the T56 engine (C-130H) at the USAF depot / Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Authorized Maintenance Center (AMC), thereby enabling propulsion system integration with the 3.5 engine upgrade and associated testing.
