Proposal Statement
Secure Voice Capability - Wideband HF.
Recommendation Information
Air National Guard Air Operations Groups require six of the following to ensure secure contingency voice capabilities remain on par with active-duty Air Operations Centers: Core Radio Packages, High Frequency radios, and Internet Protocol bridges. This critical capability is specifically to implement the final phase of the project, wideband High Frequency capability.
ANG Air Operations Center (AOC) units require the capability to communicate directly via radio to supported commanders, fielded units, and state emergency agencies. ANG AOCs need a modernized secure core radio package (CRP), a Mobile User Objective System tactical satellite-compatible radio, a wideband high-frequency (HF) radio for contested communication operations, antenna systems, and radio-to-internet protocol (IP) bridge and communications security equipment. AOC units must train and operate on the same systems as their supported Active Component AOCs. Without these capabilities, units cannot train or execute to fill mission requirements. ANG AOCs require five of the following: CRPs, HF radios, and IP bridges. This critical capability is specifically to implement the final phase of the project, wideband HF. This resolution is a 2024 WEPTAC Critical Capability and is supported by the supported by Weapon System Council and Combat Support/Mission Support Task Force.
