NGAUS, NGEF Offer Scholarships

(February 16, 2016) NGAUS and the National Guard Educational Foundation have scholarships to offer qualified applicants. The application process is ongoing for all three scholarship programs offered by the association and the foundation.

University of Phoenix: NGAUS members in the rank of lieutenant colonel and below, as well as warrant officers, can apply for full-tuition master's degree scholarships now through March 22. Three scholarships will be awarded May 10. Recipients may attend online or at a University of Phoenix campus. More information is at www.phoenix.edu/ngauscholar.

DRS Guardian Scholarship Fund: Underwritten by DRS Technologies, Inc. and administered by NGEF, this scholarship is open to children of Guardsmen who have been killed during service to our nation since Sept. 11, 2001. Nearly 800 Guardsmen have been killed since then, leaving behind about 1,000 children. Applications will be accepted until June 30. The Van Hipp Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund: Author Van Hipp will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of his book The New Terrorism: How to Fight It and Defeat It. The money will fund scholarships to Guardsmen wounded in action since Sept. 11, 2001. NGEF will administer this scholarship, which is in its first year. The application process closes July 1.
