NGAUS Washington Report
(Jan. 28, 2014) The committee that will decide how NGAUS moves ahead without the burden of a monthly mortgage payment met for the first time Monday at the National Guard Memorial, the NGAUS headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The Futures Committee appointed by Maj. Gen. Steve Danner, the NGAUS chairman, and led by retired Maj. Gen. Gus Hargett, the NGAUS president, discussed a number of ideas, from enhancing our legislative efforts on Capitol Hill to improving our ability to communicate with our 45,000 members.
“The meeting fulfilled its purpose,” said Hargett. “We examined and discussed many of the ideas submitted by our members. We organized the committee in a way that enables it to effectively and efficiently consider the wide range of proposals that have been made since we made the last payment on our wonderful building.”
The committee will makes it recommendations to the NGAUS board in July. The board will carry the plan to the 136th General Conference & Exhibition in Chicago one month later.
