NGAUS Legislative Assistant
NGAUS seeks two motivated individuals experienced in legislative affairs to
serve as legislative assistants; one to assist the Army National Guard
Program Manager and the other to assist the Air National Guard Program
Manager.
Duties may include the following:
- assist with the development, coordination and execution of Army/Air National Guard legislative objectives
- develop fact sheets, resolutions, testimonies and priority lists that support legislative objectives and priorities
- prepare materials and briefings for Congress, industry, military organizations and state associations
- provide input for legislative alerts and updates; manage portions of the resolutions process
- develop and coordinate the annual legislative objectives, priorities and strategies to support the Association’s goals
- participate in outreach efforts to the United States Congress,
Department of Defense, National Guard Bureau, defense industry and state
National Guard associations.
Successful candidates will have legislative/political experience; strong
knowledge of the defense community; a bachelor’s degree, preferably in
political science/government affairs; and strong advocacy and
communication skills. National Guard military experience is a plus.
