Return to Working with Industry

A Message from our Corporate Advisory Panel (CAP):

NGAUS and the CAP would like to thank each and every one of our partners for attending the AGAUS Conference in Louisville, KY, and participating in the CAP Session on Tuesday, 18 May.  The meeting was well attended and included most of the industry partners participating in AGAUS Conference.  The CAP session at AGAUS was the first opportunity for the new leadership at NGAUS, and the newly elected officers of the CAP to present priorities and set a direction for the near future.

MG (RET) Gus Hargett, President of NGAUS, opened our session.  He set the tone for the coming year, pledging his support to the CAP and endorsing a renewed energy and focus to the special relationship between NGAUS and industry members.  It was clear from his comments that he will be actively involved in design and implementation of CAP initiatives, will have his staff support and assist where needed, and contribute to all of our activities.  MG (RET) Hargett also took this occasion to announce the selection Glenn Ross as the new Deputy Director, Industry Liaison.  We all look forward to working with Glenn in the coming months.  Lastly, MG(RET) Hargett shared his views on the reorganization of some elements of the NGAUS staff.

MG Umbarger, TAG for Indiana, also attended and spoke at the meeting.  He announced the hosting of next year’s meeting in Indianapolis, 05 June to 10 June.  He and his staff have already prepared an outline of activities, and have selected the brand new Marriott as the headquarters hotel.  Still under construction, AGAUS will be one of the first meetings being hosted at this impressive facility.  Mark your calendars now to save the dates for AGAUS 2011.

MG Bohac, Deputy TAG for Nebraska and Assistant TAG (Air) then announced that Nebraska would host AGAUS 2012 in Lincoln.  While dates have not yet been set, it is a sure sign of progress and linkage to industry that coordination has already begun.  We all look forward to supporting the staff and leadership of the Nebraska National Guard.

This is the first of what will be some periodic updates on the activities of the CAP.  You will soon hear of some new initiatives that are designed to build a stronger link between NGAUS and the corporate membership.  If anybody has questions, comments or concerns that you would like to share, you can send them to any member of the CAP.

On January 29, 2010, elections to the Corporate Advisory Panel took place during the NGEDA conference in Austin, Texas.  The successful candidates are listed below.
